- קְצִיצִים, קְצִיצִיןm. pl. (קָצַץ, cmp. מוּקְצֶה) (stores, 1) capsules, pods. Tosef.Shebi.II, 6 אם עשה ק׳ גמוריןוכ׳ (Var. קְצוּצִים) if the plant has produced ripe capsules (or pods) before the New Year; Y. ib. II, 34a קְצָצִין 2) capsules containing Scriptural portions, Tfillin, (v. preced. 4). Gitt.57b sq. ארבעים סאה קְצִיצֵי תפליןוכ׳ Ar. (ed. קְצוּצֵי; Rashi to Succ.26b קיצוצי) forty Sahs of capsules of Tfillin were found on the heads of those slain at Bethar; Lam. R. to II, 2 קצוצי; Y.Taan.IV, 69a top קציצי.
